The idea of setting up the Singapore-India Partnership Foundation (SIPF) is an initiative that was the brainchild of the then Prime Minister now Senior Minister, Goh Chok Tong. It was set up in December 2005.
The primary objectives of the Foundation are to strengthen relations between Singapore and India through economic, government, academia and cultural linkages and to raise the positive profile of each country in the other. the Foundation aims to advance its objectives primarily by granting Exchange Fellowships, Visiting Fellowships, or Post-graduate Scholarships to outstanding Singapore or Indian nationals from all discipline, including those in the private sector, government, academia and media. It is jointly managed by the Singapore Business Federation and the Confederation of Industries India (CII).

The SIPF, is symbolic of our progressive partnership that goes beyond business to create dynamic models of sustainable development not only between India and Singapore but for the whole of Aisa. This Foundation will pave the way for joint Research and Developmental activities and showcase our immense potential to compliment each other.
We thank SM Goh Chok Tong for leading us on this progressive path that will create new synergies and will be our contribution to bring Indians and Singaporeans much closer.
On behalf of Confederation of Indian Industry, we extend all support to our partner the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) in making the SIPF a success.
CII is dedicated to building a steadily increasing economic partnership with Singapore.
